Service Closures

Dear Families at Glen Education,

As you would have heard in the media in the last 24 hours, the government has confirmed that school holidays in Victoria will be brought forward, starting tomorrow, Tuesday 24 March. We have been advised that educators will use this time to plan for flexible and remote learning, in the event kindergartens need to move to that method of teaching in/from term 2.

https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/statement-from-the-premier-33/ Following this information, we also received confirmation via DET (See link here) regarding the closure of services.

While we still have limited information about the future, we anticipate that services will resume from Tuesday 14 April.

What we need to do at present, is ensure that our staff, children and families, are kept as safe as possible, in these uncertain times.  Safety is at the forefront of our minds, as we are sure it is yours too.  We are taking appropriate measures to support our staff in a range of ways.

Fees for the remainder of the week are non-refundable, as our staff continue to work on possible contingency plans for the future (as per attached).  As you can appreciate, kindergartens do not have the same level of technological infrastructure that schools have, to provide online learning.  We are working with our peak body, other Early Years Managers and our staff to develop possible remote learning opportunities that can be undertaken at home, should we need to do so.  More information will be provided when possible, via flexibuzz, so we ask families to regularly check in.

Fees for term 2 are still payable, as we expect to operate as planned, as per Victorian term dates.  In the event the services cannot operate in term 2, we will revise the fee policy accordingly and be guided by the advice of the state government (our funding provider).  We cannot hold any places in term 2, as per current practice, for families that have not completed payment by the due date.

If you need to speak with someone at Glen Education, we kindly request that you contact us through Glen Education Info info@gekaoffice.org.au rather than via the telephone, so that we can respond to you remotely, where possible.

We appreciate this is a difficult time for everyone and we thank you for your patience, compassion and support of each other.

Kind regards

Glen Education Management
