At Glen Bentleigh East Kindergarten, the children recently initiated their own “bike wash,” bringing learning to life through play. They gathered soap and water from the pump, took turns riding through the wash, pretended to pay, and embraced different roles as “washers.”
This engaging experience encouraged turn-taking, communication, and teamwork, perfectly capturing how Glen Education’s values of empowerment and community shine through .
Through an emergent curriculum, children are empowered to lead their own learning, which fosters creativity, social skills, and independence. This hands-on experience supported the children to make sense of their world (EYLF, Outcome 2), through role play.
