Welcome Chelsea Kindergarten (Kingston Council) to the Glen Education Community!
Chelsea Kindergarten, located in the Kingston Council area, has been offering both 3YO and 4YO kindergarten, for over 60 years to the local community. The service moved into a purpose-built facility in 2017, expanding the number of places they were able to offer (double unit facility) to 63 approved places. The service has been assessed and rated as meeting the National Standard in November 2018, in all 7 quality areas. We welcome the educational team to Glen Education and look forward to working in partnership with them to continue to deliver high quality services for children and their families.
The kindergarten was previously managed by a Committee of Management, that were no longer able to continue to manage the service into the future, for a variety of reasons. We commend the Committee on their work to date and acknowledge the dedication and effort it takes to operate a kindergarten under complex legislation, in a volunteer capacity. The Chelsea Kindergarten officially joined Glen Education in record time, on the 21 July, thanks to the support of the Department of Education and Training (DET) and the members of the Committee of Management (CoM). Special thanks go to Emma Bryant and Hannah Hunt for their tireless effort to ensure a smooth transition and to secure the kindergarten’s future through Glen Education.
It is an exciting time for Glen Education as we expand into Kingston and support another local kindergarten to continue to deliver high-quality services to the community.
