On Monday 14 October, Glen Education hosted an Information Evening for Families that will be new to Glen Education in 2020. We had approx. 350 new families attend this event which was held at Compass Church in Bentleigh East. Events such as these are important for the successful and positive transition into Kindergarten, as it provides families with an overview of our approach to teaching and learning.
The night commenced with a presentation and acknowledgement of country by Glen Education’s CEO, Samantha Kolasa. Samantha discussed our history, our investment in programs and our vision for the future. The General Manager of Operations and Educational Leader, Melissa MacMaster shared with families Glen Education’s philosophy and curriculum goals for children. Families were provided with information about how they can get involved in their child’s early years experience and support the kindergarten and wider community.
Families were also provided with an overview of the enrolment and orientation process including useful information on the following:
- Arrival and departure
- What to wear and bring
- Medication and sun protection
- Excursions and Incursions
This year, Glen Education have proud to partner with Family Life, a community service organisation, working with vulnerable children, families and communities across the southern Melbourne region.
