Yarning Circles at Glen Education

Enriching Yarning Circles Event at Glen Education Carnegie

In reflection of Reconciliation Week, an enriching Yarning Circles Event, hosted by Glen Eira City Council in partnership with the Department of Education was held at Glen Education Carnegie Kindergarten on Tuesday 6th June 2024.

Facilitated by Stephanie Briggs, Koorie Engagement Support Officer (KESO), the session offered a unique opportunity for parents, educators and local community members to come together and share stories, fostering a deeper understanding of Koorie culture, history, and experiences.

At Glen Education, we believe in embracing and learning from diverse cultures in an authentic and organic way and embedding it into our everyday practices.  Our commitment to cultural responsiveness extends beyond this event; we’re constantly exploring new ideas, such as incorporating indigenous art and cultural programs, to further enrich our educational environment.

Looking ahead, we are excited to continue our journey of learning and understanding. The next upcoming Yarning Circles event to be held on 27th August by Glen Eira City Council, promises to be another enriching opportunity for connection and growth.
