Glen Education welcome the ‘Best Start Best Life’ Government Reform. Children now have access up to 15 hours of kindergarten per week for two years before starting school.
Highlighted by the recent media coverage (see links below), we are exploring the possibility of offering Saturday kindergarten sessions. Giving us the opportunity, with increased funded places available for 3yo Kindergarten, the ability to offer families access to the full 15 funded hours in 2024 (for 3-year-olds) in single room kindergartens. This allows us to deliver quality programs in innovative ways to meet diverse community needs and maximize children’s attendance.
While infrastructure expansion takes time, we are committed to finding solutions for delivering high quality early years education and care. We value our educators and aim to attract and retain highly qualified staff with flexible working arrangements.
As we consider Saturday programs, their operation depends on community interest. It’s still too early to confirm if the sessions will proceed, as we’ve just started the offering process in consultation with the Council where our services are located (central enrolment).
