FIRST WEEK OF KINDERGARTEN (31 January – 2 February)
Glen Education will commence the kindergarten year with half sessions of kindergarten in the first week enabling children to gain both experience and confidence with their new environment, peers and educators. From the second week of kindergarten (Monday 6 February), normal full sessions will commence. Children who may benefit from a more gradual approach to the kindergarten year, will have an individual orientation and transition plan developed.
You will receive a booking link to register for your child’s first orientation session. A Parent/Guardian must remain with their child/ren for the duration of the FIRST orientation session.
1:1 INTERVIEW
The purpose of the 1:1 teacher interview (to be held in February) is to facilitate a learning discussion. Please feel free to raise any important information you would like to share with your child’s teacher. These sessions will be offered online through the platform Microsoft Teams or in person at the kindergarten. Further details on when and how to book for 1:1 interviews will be provided by the teacher during orientation week.
What to Bring to Orientation
Gaining an insight into the interests, expectations and needs of you and your child is an important part of building relationships between families and educators.
Please answer the questions in the Getting to Know You Form about your child so the educators can begin to get to know your child and to better plan for their individual interests and needs.
At your first orientation session, please remember to bring:
- your completed Getting to Know You Form
- 1 individual photo of your child
- 1 family photo (any size)
- My Health, Learning and Development Record (green book)
