Glen Education were honoured to host the Hon. Lizzie Blandthorn MP at Glen Edithvale Kindergarten today, together with the local member for Mordialloc, Tim Richardson MP. We were also joined by our partners from Kingston Council and the Department of Education.
Minister Blandthorn attended to announce our successful $440K Building Blocks Grant, which we were awarded to enhance the facilities and ensure the kindergarten will continue long into the future. Together with a significant financial investment from Glen Education, we have been able to increase capacity from 27 children to 33 children per day, as well as upgrade the building, furniture, and equipment. Our vision and purpose are built on a foundation of being able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families, and we believe this achievement demonstrates that goal in practice.
We also had the privilege of introducing the Minister to our invaluable partners, Brian, Dave and Vince from BV Designs, KADA Constructions and Raso Architects respectively. Their ability to support us to achieve incredible results on a tight timeline, is to be commended. We are grateful to them for their dedication and commitment to Glen Education’s vision and purpose.
The visit also provided us with a wonderful opportunity for children to engage with the Minister, and to show her how capable they are, by providing afternoon tea that they had made themselves. While visiting, the Minister also read the children a favourite story and engaged with them in conversations about their learning and their love of kindergarten. The Minister was able to see firsthand, the impact that the funding contribution has had on the quality of the learning we are able to deliver.
Together, Glen Education are proud to showcase our commitment to early childhood education and the incredible services we provide to the local community. We foster holistic development through play-based learning and our ongoing commitment to high-quality early childhood education. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event a success, in particular, the educational team and the children, for welcoming everyone into their learning space.
